9/6 關心大選學英文

這文章的重點是學英文，下面順便說一下我在這邊看到的現象，

1.Today is the day for WA, with a Newspoll out in The Oz showing the election to be neck and neck. (出自此文章 )

Newspoll out = 是這邊的一個民調機構。
neck and neck = 並駕齊驅，不分上下。

2. 800 polling booths across the state have closed and numbers are coming in from 59 Legislative Assembly seats that will determine which party forms the next state government.
　Internal polling from both the Liberal and Labor Parties have predicted a tight contest.
　Today's Newspoll in The Australian Newspaper has also suggested the result will go down to the wire.
　The latest figures show support is split 50/50 on two party preferred figures.
　The Liberal Party needs to gain nine seats, or a uniform swing of just under four per cent to win government. (出於此文章)

polling booths = 投票所
tight contest = 緊張的情勢
down to the wire = 直到最後的一刻 (參考文章)
split 50/50 = 五五波
per cent = 重點是 per cent 竟然要分開，我是第一次知道。

3. Premier Alan Carpenter, who voted in Willagee, also expects a knife-edge result.

disgruntle = 使不高興(跟 boring , bored的用法很像)

===== 以下是 選舉現象心得文 =====


9/6 是 西澳政府大選的日子，
在台灣，我對於選舉一直沒有好感，
所以也沒有去關心過政治相關議題，
對於政治的議題，因為不關心，所以不懂，我也很少發表我自己的相關看法，

僅針對這陣子在新聞節目以及電視廣告上所看到的，說明我的感覺，
我猜，澳洲最多人收視的電視頻道是 Channel 7，
這是因為在奧運期間，只有這個電視台播放最多奧運相關節目，
我想只有廣大的收視率才可以支付龐大的奧運轉撥費。
因此這次大選，很多候選人的文宣、廣告，都會在Channel 7上面播出。

而我看到澳洲選舉與台灣選舉不同的地方是
1. 沒有抹黑的新聞 - 有宣傳廣告，但是沒有抹黑報導，僅針對之前政黨所作不好的事情做批評。
2. 沒有選舉造勢活動 - 我想這是因為這邊人口分布太廣了，想要造勢也很難吧，但是卻也沒有像美國的總統大選一樣，會有一群支持的民眾坐在一個大會場中。
3. 不同的選舉制度 - 澳洲的選舉制度是選擇投票制(Alternative Vote System)，是多數決的一種。

另外在我打這篇文章的同時(9/7)，開票已經過了一天了，目前情況正如選前預期，尚未明朗化。
